A writer-director, he recognized as the master of African comedy, depicting African societies after their independence with humor and tenderness. His film Wild Grass won Best Film Award at Carthage Festival in 1977. Duparc established a production company and a foundation baring his name to support young directors in Côte d'Ivoire. He received an honorary award for the bulk of cinematic works in South Africa, 1998.
